Brendan McOwen of Montgomery County Wins GEICO Spirit Award

McOwen of Montgomery County recently won the prestigious GEICO Spirit Award during the Victory Dance held at Winter Games 2010 in Johnstown, PA.  The award is presented to an athlete whose extra efforts go above and beyond what is required to train for a statewide competition. 

 An alpine skier, McOwen’s great attitude and sportsmanship coupled with the desire to help his fellow athletes and give back to his Special Olympics program are some of the reasons why he was chosen to receive the award.
