Sheetz, Inc. and Gilbane, Inc. ~ Pillars of Hope and Support

Sheetz, Inc, Special Olympics Pennsylvania's (SOPA) Premier Statewide Partner, presented the organization

with its annual $150,000 gift during Summer Games 2009. Pictured in the image to the left is SOPA Global

Messenger and athlete Kelly Horn, Sheetz, Inc. Manager of Public Relations Monica Jones, and SOPA President

and CEO Matt Aaron.  Additionally, Gilbane, Inc. presented SOPA with a check representing funds raised during

an annual golf event the company holds on SOPA's behalf.  Although the amount printed on the check was for

$40,000, the event actually raised a total of $53,000 due to the generous support of several live auction participants.

Be a Fan of Acceptance, Leadership and Hope

Brian A. Beale has written a touching story on the acceptance of children during the most difficult of situations

in Colin Gets a Chance.  This gripping story, about acceptance, leadership and hope, provides a unique approach

to parents in opening up the lines of communication with their children regarding a topic as sensitive as Down Syndrome

and the significant impact children have on their peers. After all, everyone deserves “a chance” in life.  10% of all proceeds

benefit Special Olympics Pennsylvania.   Visit AuthorHouse Publishing to purchase your copy and benefit Special Olympics.
