Get Involved:
Athletes

Participation in Columbia/Montour training and competitive events is open to all people with mental retardation. To participate, a person must be at least eight years old and be identified by an agency or professional as having mental retardation, cognitive delays as measured by formal assessment, or significant learning or vocational problems due to cognitive delay that require or have required specially designed instruction.

Families are an important part of the program. The dedication of a family who supports, transports, and offers daily encouragement to athletes is the reason so many of them thrive in our program. In turn, we provide families a place where they can come together with opportunities for sports, social interaction, and fun.

Volunteers

The entire Columbia/Montour program is run by volunteer effort. Volunteers come from all walks of life, all age groups, and all income brackets.
