2002 Special Olympics Pennsylvania Hall of Fame Dinner to be Held
March 21 in Philadelphia
November 14, 2001 The 7th Annual Special Olympics
Pennsylvania Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony will be held on
Thursday, March 21, in Philadelphia at the Sheraton Society Hill
beginning at 7:00 p.m.
During the induction ceremony, Special Olympics Pennsylvania will induct
six new athletes and coaches into its Hall of Fame for their commitment
and dedication to the mission of Special Olympics.
In addition, this year's Chairman's Choice inductee will be Pete
Retzlaff, former Philadelphia Eagles great and longtime volunteer
and member of the board of directors for Special Olympics.
The Hall of Fame Dinner shares with a larger audience the inspiring
stories of individuals who heard "they can't do it" all through their
lives -- but proved they could, once given a chance.
Tables for the event can be purchased for $1,250, and corporate
sponsorships are still available by calling Special Olympics
Pennsylvania at (800) 235-9058 or
sending e-mail. Individual tickets are also available.
Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) provides year-round training and
competition in 23 Olympic-type sports to over 25,000 children and adults
with mental retardation or closely related developmental disabilities.
For more information about SOPA, call (800) 235-9058.
